Does a pellet stove need a chimney?
It needs a compatible venting system. Whether an existing chimney can be used depends on the appliance and a suitable installation plan. Pellet venting is not interchangeable with every wood-stove chimney arrangement.
Are pellet stoves maintenance-free?
No. Ash removal, burn-pot care, vent cleaning, and other maintenance are model-specific. Convenience in fuel feeding does not eliminate inspection or cleaning.
